Technical Assistance for Kapuas Hulu Village Forest Project Development, Indonesia

The Indonesian non-government organization Yayasan Pelestari Ragamhayati dan Cipta Fondasi Indonesia (PRCF Indonesia) works with several villages in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan, that have secured long-term management rights to Village Forests (Hutan Desa), and long-term 25-year funding for conservation outcomes. Within the larger landscape of Village Forests in Kapuas Hulu, PRCF Indonesia is proposing to "ready" an additional four villages to receive a source of long-term finance to fund Village Forest management activities and associated village livelihood activities in the four villages. PRCF Indonesia plans to include these four new villages into a grouped project certified by the Climate, Community, and Biodiversity (CCB) Standards and funded by Rimba Collective.

TLLG provided technical assistance to PRCF Indonesia in collaborating with communities in the four villages to develop a project concept, activity plan, and budget; conduct a baseline survey that meets CCB requirements, and develop a monitoring plans for the project sites and draft CCB project documents. Training was provided to PRCF Indonesia staff who participated in all project field activities. TLLG produced draft and final products for submission to Verra.
