Jake Willis - Forest Governance Specialist

Jake Willis is a Forest Governance and Community-based Natural Resource Management Specialist with 20 years’ experience across Africa, South America, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Jake specialises in implementing and monitoring community-based forestry, REDD+, climate mitigation and protected area programmes. Building on his diverse roles with INGOs, the private sector and government forest departments, Jake brings a wide range of skills and experience to TLLG, including in stakeholder engagement and participatory processes; community rights, self-determination and FPIC processes; land tenure, participatory mapping and GIS; strengthening livelihoods and community institutions; organisational training and capacity-building; community-based monitoring of illegal logging; and HCV-HCSA assessment. Jake speaks fluent English, French and Spanish, and intermediate Portuguese, Italian, Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog and Visayan.
